Dinner Date

When we arrived back at the beach we were greeted by the Cantieri Clan. Staley and Olivia had a lunch date to watch Mickey Mouse and then out to the pool.

Me and My Dad

Reasons to come back

Water Baby

Staley loves the water. We spent some time in the ocean but also enjoyed the pool up on the deck.

Storm Chaser

We had to leave the beach for a day to avoid the hurricane. Here are a couple of pictures from right before we left the beach. Notice Staley's all tuckered out from chasing the storm.

Cousins Kids

All the Schubert kids (that came to the beach).

Kissing Cousins

We spent the last week at the beach and oh what fun! We started off with my mom's side of the family - the Schuberts. Ashlyn is only 19 days older than Staley and boy does she love her cousin!

Museum of Life and Science

The three of us spent the day at the Museum of Life and Science. These pictures are from the train ride.

Rann Camp

For the past 5 years we've been invited to Rann Camp. Rann takes all of his nieces and nephews for a week of fun and we usually meet them one night/morning. This time it was for brunch and Staley came too. SO fun!

Sleep deprived

Staley's teething... That means that last night -- no one got sleep. I guess he's making up for it today at school.

Boys Weekend

Luke and Staley spent some quality time together this weekend. Luke was excited to find out that Staley enjoys Mickey Mouse's Playhouse.

Brunch with Brooke

I miss Brooke Fork. She and I worked together at Duke and got pregnant about the same time too. I enjoyed getting to know her while working on a large event and comparing notes on pregnancy. She gave birth to BEAUTIFUL Collins in February and decided that to stay at home (How cool)! We finally got a playdate on the books last weekend and my how the kids have grown. Could Collins be the next Mrs. Bumm? I'd definitely get to see Brooke more :)

Trip to the Museum

Luke was feeling a bit under the weather on Saturday... Staley and had to get out of the house. We met my parents at the Museum of Life in Science in Durham. It was SO cool. Here are a few shots of our day.

Life

Today I received some sad news of a friend and colleague, Tamara, who at the age of 36 passed away of cancer. She leaves behind a 1 1/2 year old daughter, husband, family and friends who are all devastated by the news.

Tamara was a wonderful, talented, amazing person. She ran the research department and taught spin classes after work at the Duke Gym. I will miss emailing for advice about pregnancy, babies, health, fitness... I will miss her level of enthusiasm. Most of all, I will miss her.

Today, I am sad. I look forward to the day that I can celebrate her and all that she is. Please pray for her family and friends. I am a better person to have known her.

Grandkids

This weekend my half brother, George, brought his two gorgeous girls up to visit. Mya and Maria were great mommy's helpers and I can't wait until Staley can join in on their spy games :) Here's a picture of Grandpa and his grandkids.
