Changes in 2011

We survived our first half a week of school!

The bad news: Staley has averaged 2 outfit changes a day.

The good news: He's started giggling and following you around with his eyes (for those of you without children - this is a big developmental step for this month) and he's sitting up and holding his neck up by himself for short periods of time!

New family developments: Luke's accepted a new job in Raleigh that starts February 21st. Congrats Dad!

Luke and I finally got a chance to look at some of the pictures that Courtney took and I thought I'd include a couple of our favorites!

Getting Big

Staley had his 2 month shots this week and today I'm working to put away most of his 0-3 month outfits. I think this one might have to be put away too... what do you think?

First Daycare Visit

Our daycare requires two 1/2 day visits with mom or dad before you can enroll. Today was morning number 1. I'm happy to report that the ladies that will be taking care of Staley are wonderful. There are two in the morning, and three in the afternoon.

Our daycare is one of the top rated in Durham and I was surprised to see that there aren't that many infants in Staley's class (4). All of the other infants are 6+ months old and are walking so Staley will be receiving LOTS of extra attention! It was a very positive day today... I might cry a little on Thursday when I drop him off but I know he'll be in the care of some very special ladies.

Hats

Staley LOVES hats (just like his dad). Today, Mrs. Thompson stopped by with gifts from the Thompson family. Check out Staley's new hat from Forbes!

Monthly Milestone

Oh Wow!

Everyone that sees Staley thinks that he looks exactly like his dad. I decided to find an old photograph of Luke when he was about 4/5 years old (sorry about the quality - I took this picture with my phone).

Here are my observations:

1. I swear Luke still has and wears that outfit.

2. Same mouth - check

3. Same nose - check

4. Same eyes - check

5. Same expressions - check

Good thing I love them both b/c it's frightening how much they look alike.

Morning Moves

Every morning, we wake up have breakfast and Staley shows us his newest dance moves... Here are some from this morning's session.

Pictures with Dylan

When the boys met, they couldn't take their eyes off each other... they already were fast friends.

Then they got a bit hungry so they enjoyed an early lunch together while thier mom's caught up.

Finally, it was time for business.... playtime!

By the end, they were holding hands. It was SO cute! We couldn't get the cameras out fast enough but here's a picture right afterwards. Can't wait for years of friendship ahead. I hope that this is the start of a Cross/Bumm type friendship :)

Staley's First Playdate

Staley visited his friend Dylan today. Dylan Wade is about a month older than Staley. They had a little lunch together, played on the playmat, held hands, and then enjoyed a good cry together too. They are already old friends.

When Staley got home, he was so excited to tell Dad all about his adventure. Dylan's parents promised to share some pictures from the adventure but for now, here's a picture of Staley.

We Miss Dad

Dad went back to work today. For the most part, today was a good day - with a few minor meltdowns that ended in the front pack, dancing to music until Staley fell asleep. This picture is from one of the good parts. Still, we can't wait for Dad to come home.

Happy Day
